There is a dark, ugly underbelly that no one really talks a lot about when it comes to starting a legitimate work at home business. This phantom menace is called "WORK"! Is there any wonder why Netflix, McDonald's and the microwave are all huge money makers? Now, do I drop by Mickey D's for the kids and nuke some cold leftovers for lunch from time to time? Absolutely! But the epidemic I'm talking about is the idea you can sit on the couch and watch the tube for hours on end and still make a living from home. Hard work and diligence are what really pay the bills long term. Legitimate work from home businesses require consistent effort and there is no way around it. So, since we must work hard to be successful, here are few ways you can work smart that will lighten your load.
1. Plan your work around specific tasks instead of trying to everything in one day. For instance you may choose t write articles and do some social networking follow up on Tuesday and Thursday while posting classified ads may be a daily occurrence. Dividing tasks by days will break the monotony and also prevent you from becoming overwhelmed.
2. Use a timer to help you keep on pace and not get distracted with unproductive activities. You will find that by timing your activities you can get twice as much work done based on the focused effort caused by using a timer.
3. Get out of the house and get some fresh air, have lunch with a friend or just take a walk. The outside stimulation will give you a different perspective on many of the things you are working on in your business. Stepping away does wonders for problem solving and working through road blocks in your business.
