Where Can We Listen Live Big Band Jazz Music?
Jazz--A musical art form was originated in the African American communities in early 20th century. It is one of the most tantalizing and distinguished forms of music and has a unique American flair to it. It embraces all other forms like rock, hip-hop. But the irony is it has now become less popular than the latter ones. The big band- also known as the jazz band, jazz ensemble, dance band, stage orchestra is an ensemble associated with playing the Jazz music. The typical instruments used are Saxophone, Clarinet, Piano, Guitar etc.
Jazz is one of the most significant contributions to the music world. Still there are many people who value its worth and love listening to it. No matter how old it grows, this is something which is agile and will always persist in the hearts of its admirers. One reason that jazz remains popular and alive is its ability to adapt to the world it lives in and yet being able to maintain its originality and touch.
There are a host of options available for the Jazz music lovers. In Chicago, you can hear some great musicians playing Jazz on nearly every street corner. Kansas City, Boston and New Orleans have great Jazz clubs where there are splendid performances of the original big band Jazz music the magic of the renowned artists is recreated. The idea is to go back to the period to feel and relive that pleasant light and easy music. They are like a holy spot for those who are passionate about this music.
For the music lovers who do not want to leave their homes want to find an economical way to live their favorite Jazz music, here is a shortcut- The Radio. Tune into some great Jazz radio stations. It may not be as mesmerizing and scintillating as hearing them live in person but close your eyes, flow with the music and imagine yourself with your favorite artists at a concert. That is the best way to enjoy it and pretty reasonable too.

easy jazz piano?
I'm trying to learn jazz by ear but I'm finding it really difficult. I am awesome at transcribing the melody or solo lines. But whe it comes to the bass or chords I really struggle to pick any notes at all. What are some good piano based jazz albums which might be a little easier for me to transcribe by ear?
A number of "play along" recordings (see below) are available that are a lot of fun and are great way to learn easy jazz songs. You can listen and emulate the piano part, then turn down the piano part by adjusting the balance on your stereo and it's like you have your own pro combo in your living room. Have fun!

Farmer Live Sweet
Farmer Live Sweet

A few hundred years ago, the Przewalski horse ran wild in Mongolia. Although these horses were native to their Mongolian home range, it is thought they roamed throughout Europe and most of Asia. This is evident from the cave paintings that have been discovered and studied in France and Spain.
The Przewalski horse only exists now in Zoos and private reserves. A little over one hundred years ago, Colonel Nikolai Przewalski under orders of the Czar, made several voyages into Mongolia and discovered the remnants of this horse. The horse was named after him as he was credited with the discovery.
The Prezewalski horse is a short and very stout horse. They generally stand approximately 12 to 14 hands tall. (A hand is a measurement used to determine the height of the horse. It is the measurement from the ground to the top of the withers. The withers is the high point on the horses' vertebrae between the neck and the back where the shoulders meet.) They are a "Dun" color which is a beige to brown in color and they have a black stripe running down their back.
The horses are now considered extinct in the wild due to their being over hunted. At the time of Colonel Nikolai Przewalski's discovery, these horses were already in danger of becoming extinct. There is a push to re-establish the breed into their natural habitats. Through a cooperative effort between the Zoos and private foundations, these plans are moving forward. A lot of scientific research has been necessary for such purposes as increasing the fertility rates and decreasing the foals' mortality rates. Plans for reintroduction of the breed into its natural habitat are also compromised by the difficulties in locating suitable lands that haven't been over grazed or populated by livestock. The natural habitat for the Prezewalski horse is grassland region. After the Ice age, most of Europe and Asia was suitable for rangeland for this breed. As time elapsed, much of the grassland gave way to forests and increase in human population further pushed the breed into decline. Fourteen years ago, the reintroduction into the grassland region of Mongolia began. Over time, there has been several small herds being introduced back into their native environments with an adjustment period so they can get use to their new home. An area in Mongolia that has been found to be suitable for them is being turned into a National Park to preserve the region and the natural fauna and flora for them.
The struggle of this breed can be representative of the struggle between animal and man for existence. The Prezewalski horse roamed these lands for twenty thousand years. As man's way of living evolved, these horses began to interfere with the early farmers. As evident from the cave paintings, these horses were hunted for food. As man began farming, competition between man and the Prezewalski horse increased over crops or interference with domesticated animals. In the last half of the 20th century, evidence of the existence of wild herds could no longer be found although expeditions were sent out specifically to find them. As the 20th century closes and we enter the 21st century, their is a new emergence to preserve and restore our natural habitats including the animals that live within them. With this new emergence, is the reintroductions of these magnificent animals to their native homes and the scientific studies to make this happen.

Do you like my new country song?
ARTIST: JON MALCOM
TITLE: COUNTRY MAN
I was born the son of a poor man
Hard life got strong arms and a farmers tan
Work that field at the start of the day
In the afternoon I bail that hay
And every night I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep
And in the morning I'll do it all over again
Because I'm a country man
Oh yeah I'm a country man
Oh yeah I'm a country man
Drive that tractor in the hot sun
Turn right to make another run
Plow that field, bail some hay
I need a cash crop in that's what I pray
She brings me some sweet tea
I like it when makes it fresh for me
It's nice to live in the country
Cause I'm a country man
Oh yeah cause I'm a country man
I'm a country man...
Later I'll go fish off the creek
No Internet and no TV
All I need...
Her and the country
Oh yeah cause I'm a country man
I'm a country man
Yeah man thats a pretty sweet song

Ten Of The Most Popular Classical Pieces Of All Time
For anyone studying popular classical music, it can be a daunting task to know where to begin. There are so many great pieces that a beginner can get overwhelmed. Here are 10 of the most popular classical pieces with a brief background of each. There are many others, of course, but these 10 are certainly among the most popular classical pieces of all time.
Clair de Lune is a piece by Claude Debussy, a French composer. It is the third and most popular movement of the larger Suite bergamasque. It is played pianissimo and is largely in D-flat major, with a shift to E major toward the end. Clair de Lune has been taught to students of popular classical piano for years and is prominently featured in movies and television shows.
Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14, popularly called the Moonlight Sonata, was completed in 1801. Beethoven had begun to suffer from hearing loss prior to this and used a special rod attached to the piano's soundboard in order to feel the vibrations and enhance his sense of the music. It was given the name Moonlight Sonata by a music critic who compared it to the moonlight shining on a lake.
Canon in D is the most well known piece by Johann Pachelbel. Originally written for three violins and basso continuo, it has since been given many different arrangements. Basso continuo refers to a group of instruments, one of which must be able to play chords. Other instruments must be able to play in the bass register, such as a cello. Canon in D is often played at weddings.
The Hallelujah Chorus is part of George Frideric Handel's Messiah. The text is from a libretto by Charles Jennens, who adapted parts of the Old and New Testaments for his composition. The Hallelujah Chorus is taken from the book of Revelation, and it is customary for audiences to stand during this movement of the Messiah.
George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue is a piece that combines the elements of popular classical music with the popular jazz music of the era. It was commissioned as a classical element in an all-jazz concert to be presented by band leader Paul Whiteman. Known as Al Capone's favorite song, Rhapsody in Blue has been featured in numerous films and advertisements.
The Piano Sonata in B minor is one of Franz Listz's most popular classical solo piano works. It is a piece in the Romantic style and consists of small movements woven into a larger whole. Thematic elements are presented in each movement, although the different setting of the movements make the elements sound differently each time. In one section the melody may seem violent, yet later in the piece it becomes something beautiful in a different context.
Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler contains many of the common elements of Mahler's work, such as the funeral march. Commentators have noted that when hearing Mahler's Fifth "you forget that time has passed." Scored for a large orchestra, the Fifth is considered to be Mahler's most conventional symphony up to that point in his career. He was regarded as a highly unconventional composer until the Fifth was published.
Johann Sebastian Bach composed The Well-Tempered Clavier to instruct students in solo piano playing. He collected 24 pieces and published them in 1722 as The Well-Tempered Clavier. In 1744 he published a similar collection with the title Twenty-Four Preludes and Fugues. Combined, these two books comprise The Well-Tempered Clavier.
The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi consists of four violin concertos. A Baroque piece from 1723, The Four Seasons is also considered a series of tone poems, as Vivaldi provided instructions with each movement. Phrases such as "the drunkards have fallen asleep" and "the barking dog" give conductors instructions about the feel of each concerto in this popular classical piece.

Why is The Planets one of the most popular pieces of classical music?
Help please, i need the answer!!
What makes anything popular, as in populist? Something which is very readily accessible to a lot of people is liked by a lot of people.
There are numbers of very popular classical pieces from the Baroque period all the way up through the late 20th century. Often, they are thought of as less deep, substantial or not as great as other pieces, even compared to other pieces by the same composers.
That is almost always the way with the popular pieces, 'classic' classical or otherwise, they are popular because they are lighter entertainment. It is safe to say that The Planets or Ravel's Bolero are not truly great pieces of classical music, but they will remain popular pieces of classical music for a long time.
If you are in Britain, I should tell you a lot of staple British concert fare from British composers, Holst, Elgar, Delius, to name a few, doesn't travel over the water well in much of any direction: it is a sort of phenomenon of what can only be called a Nationalist taste - embracing "a local boy's" work when it does not have international recognition is not unique to Britain, of course.
best regards.

Various Methods of Motorizing The Country Living Grain Mill
While the advantages of using a electric grain mill have been demonstrated, there are many reasons why someone would be interested in using a hand driven or human powered grain mill. Any kind of emergency power outages, natural disaster or civil unrest will mean that your grain mill will need to be run manually. There are plenty of options out there for human powered kitchen mills, but there is one that sits head and shoulders above the rest due to its high quality and the ease with which it is able to be powered.
Clearly hand operation is needed for emergency use of the kitchen mill, but providing a different means of powering it for every day use is a big deal . It is true that The Country Living Grain Mill company offers a motorization kit that can be directly attached to the unit, but it is costly. Thanks to a belt drive flywheel that has been incorporated into the design, the Country Living Grain Mill is very simple to motorize. Please take note that placing a motor on your unit will void the warrenty provided by Country Living. Simply following the requirements for operating speeds will provide for an excellent experiance and will also protect your Country Living Grain Mill.
The proper layout of the pulley transmission is critical to the proper powering of the mill. Many general use motors that run around 1750RPM can be pulled from old clothes washers or dryers, or a new one can be purchased for a reasonable cost. If a slower motor can be procured (around 1150RPM) it is possible to direct attach this motor to the flywheel of the Country Living Grain Mill. Experts do believe that this speed is still to fast and present the possibility of excessivly heating the grinding wheels. In order to guarentee that the proper speeds are met for the life and longevity of the mill, a pulley system will have to be used. 120 is the absolute maximum that the actual burrs should be rotating, with 60 turns per minute being the optimal speed.
Following in the footsteps of those before us shows us that both a vertical and horizontal pulley setup will work for these purposes. Your specific layout and space availability will help you determine the best way to configure your Country Living Grain Mill.
It's possible that the motorization process you select won't invovle a motor at all - it is entirely possible to attach the Country Living Grain Mill to an old exercise bike which has been outfited wtih a drive belt pulley. In just the same way you would connect a motor, drive pulleys and a belt can be used to connect the two. Legs provide much more energy and power than arms, and so the speed and quantity of ground wheat increases. This application is especially useful in large scale disaster relief or third world situations where electricity is prohibitively expensive or unavailable altogether.
There are many different choices and techniques available to your Country Living Grain Mill. All of the benefits of an electric mill combined with the critical aspects of a hand powered mill are present in the homemade motorized Country Living Grain Mill.

Classic Rock Guitar

The Great Unsung Heroes Of Classic Rock
Classic rock is a term used loosely to describe the albums released in the early to late 70's by artists which have become legendary and therefore 'classics".
Most of these albums/artists were highly original and would become influential on many other bands for generations to come. No matter what era you were born in since the 70's almost ANY band you listen to would have been influenced by artists and bands from this era. So even if you are now only in your teens and you find you favorite band sounds "totally original" you can bet your bottom dollar that they were influenced by someone from this era ( even if they don't even know it!)
The seventies was a great era for music because it truly was a ground breaking time for original music. Nothing was copied, or rehashed, everyone had their own sound even though, as always in music, the 70's was a continuance and evolution of music from the 60's, but it matured more fully in the 70's.
Bands and artists such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix , Free, Allman Brothers, Queen, Black Sabbath, Cream, David Bowie, Status Quo are all examples of acts who made their start in the 60's but found their sound and style in the 70's, and therefore gave rise to many other bands who then added their own flavour to these styles.
Lesser known bands such as Uriah Heep, Wishbone Ash, Grand Funk Railroad, Scorpions (who became quite huge in the 80's), and Thin Lizzy are worthy of mentions but would not necessarily be known as legends, where as other acts such as Queen became absolutely huge and remain so to this day.
It is the same with "guitar heroes". Almost every guitarist no matter what age has heard of or has listened to Hendrix, Clapton. Jimmy Page etc but there are other extremely talented and influential guitarists who are less well known that should be in the legend status as well. Two such examples are Richie Blackmore from deep purple and Michael Schenker from UFO. You will find some modern players such as Kirk Hammet and Dimebag Darrel were heavily influenced by Michael Schenker, but Schenker has not really achieved "god like" status such as some of his contemporaries like Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton.
I could go on for hours about classic rock and there are hundreds of excellent albums that are still available today, (and some fine ones deleted) but some songs and albums rate a special mention for their guitar prowess and are worth your time to have at least a quick listen.
Here's a quick list or lesser known gems of classic musical genius that are worth a listen:
Deep purple:
Guitarist: Richie Blackmore:
Choice albums: Made in Japan and Deep Purple in Rock
Songs: Highway Star, Child in Time.
Some of the most blistering guitar work you will ever hear recorded in the early 70's and held the Guinness Book of Records title as the loudest recording ever made!
UFO:
Guitarist: Michael Schenker.
Choice Albums: Phenomenon and Force It.
Songs: Rock Bottom
One of the most exciting and dynamic solos ever recorded, he was about 18 at the time!
FREE: (later to become" bad company" another excellent act!!)
Guitarist Paul Kossof
Album: Best of Free.
Songs: All Right Now, Fire and Water, .Mr. Big [live]
Simplistic and slow style excellent natural tone, all feeling!!! A Les Paul plugged straight into a marshal, no pedals and no tricks.
WISHBONE ASH:
Guitarists: Andy Powell & Ted Turner.
Choice albums: Argus and There's The Rub.
Excellent melody and twin harmony lead breaks, copied by many acts since! Very complex arrangements
I know I have missed many other guitarists and bands here, but the thought is to give an idea of the amount of unearthed 'gems' there are to be heard apart from the obvious legends!!
