Best Pop Up Blocker
Sometimes, as you browse various Internet sites, you suddenly find your screen cluttered with a bunch of pop-up windows. And by the time you have closed them, others have appeared. Pop-ups are a form of advertising that irritate and try the patience of the average Internet user.
User’s increased frustration has led them to download and use programs that restrict pop-ups and “pop-unders”. Known as pop-up blockers, these programs control pop-ups, by blocking them from appearing on the user’s screen.
Identifying the best pop-up blockers is not that easy given the ever-changing strategies of advertisers. Experts are now sure of one thing – that it is virtually impossible to make a program that will completely eliminate pop-ups. Even if they are able to eliminate pop-ups, there is always the fear that in the process several important pop-ups may get blocked. Hundreds of software companies have tried and failed to create software that will eliminate all intrusive pop-ups, without blocking the “good” ones. However, companies are still working hard to achieve the seemingly unachievable.
Before buying pop-up blocking software it is important to research the design, configurations, and installation requirements, making sure they are compatible with the user and computer it will be installed on. It is recommended that users study what's available before deciding which software to use. Experts recommend the software should be very configurable and visible in its operation so that users come to know when the software modifies a Web site. A good and easy way to judge pop-up blocking software is to observe their popularity.

Playing Shaman Drums In Indian Ceremonies and Drumming Groups
Looking for an easy way to give your home decor southwestern or country flare? Try including Shaman drums along with your Native American style home furnishings like I did. My love for these unique, American Indian drums started right after my husband and I bought our new home last year. We knew that because of our love for the old west, we wanted true southwestern and Native American style decor with unique rustic home furnishings.
Once that was determined I started filling my new home with beautiful southwestern and Native American pieces that would go with my rustic decor and entertain my guests by telling a story at the same time. That is when I came across how simple it was to give my home that beautiful southwest style that you see in designer home magazines, by decorating with shaman drums.
Maybe you are like me when I first started digging into the history and meaning of Native American drums, and have only a vague idea of what the Shamans drum is. Or, maybe you are wondering how to choose the best drum to play in your Shaman drum circle.
Whatever the case, it is important to understand the significance this raw hide drum plays in Native American culture so you can develop a true appreciation for its art and let its power lead you in the right direction.
If you are fortunate enough to be present at a Shamanic ceremony you will notice that the Shaman, or spiritual leader, will beat a unique looking raw hide hand drum with a soft mallet to create the soothing monotonous beat needed to take him to an altered mental state. During this altered state of mind, called the Shamanic journey, the spiritual leader receives healing and spiritual powers he uses to help his people.
If you look closely at the Shaman's drum you will realize that unlike many other leather Native American drums used during tribal ceremonies, these rustic drums have natural raw hide, stretched over a wood frame on one side and are laced with raw hide string on the other side.
They don't have the loop hold like many other tribal drums do. A drum made in this way allows for a natural hand holding position so you can be in full contact with the drum and easily manipulate the sound that is very important in bringing out the right tones needed to take you on your Shamanic journey.
You will also notice that many Shaman drums have symbolic paintings on the rawhide playing surface. These unique southwestern symbols often depict a map of the universe or symbols of spiritual powers you can use to guide you in your meditating and journeying experience.
If you are using the drum for Shamanic work, take time to study the significance of the painting. Since the southwest paintings have a special power that influences the journey, you want to make sure it is in agreement with your own practices and influences you in that direction.
Also, I like to check the quality of the drum before choosing. It's critical to make sure there are no thin places at the points where the cords of the drumhead are attached. This is important for the quality and life of your Shaman drum and will save you money in the long run by not having to have it repaired or buy a new one.
Most focus is placed on the drum alone but don't forget to choose the right striking mallet so you can enjoy the resonating sound of these native drums to its fullest.
You will find that there are many different types of mallets that create different tones from the drum and although I personally like using a mallet with a fur covered head, it is a matter of what you like best.
Whether you are purchasing Native American musical instruments such as drums to add to your home decor or are using it to lead you in your spiritual journey, you will no doubt fall in love with the true Native American style and southwest charm added to your life and home by Shaman drums.

How far can you go with learning to play the drums, without an actual drum kit?
I really want to learn to play the drums but I don't yet have the resources nor the place to play an acoustic or electronic drum kit. I wanted to know how far can I go with learning, without a drum kit.
You could spend $20 on a good single practice pad and it is no different than practicing on a real snare drum for the most part. You could take snare drumming as far as you want to on a pad. If you can spend $150 this practice pad set would allow you to do anything (in terms of practice) that you could do on a real set.

Drum Building 101 – How To Wrap A Drum Shell
First you will need to cut your wrap to size. An easy way to do this is to wrap it around your drum shell and mark the edge of the shell all the way around. Some wrap manufacturers don’t make wrap to go all the way around large drums, so you’ll end up having to use 2 pieces for larger drums – mark your cut line around the top of the shell. You may use a sharp pair of scissors to cut the wrap. Sparkles are a little easier to cut than glass glitter wraps. Plan on sharpening your scissors frequently if you need to cut a lot of wrap.
After you cut your wrap to the length of your shell, you’ll need to cut it down to the diameter of your shell. An easy way to do this is to use a flexible measuring tape (for sewing) to measure all the way around the shell and add an extra inch for overlap.
Now lay the wrap down flat and measure out that distance and use a straight edge to mark your next cut. Now lay your wrap down flat on the ground and mark the center of the wrap on a piece of tape. Now you need to do a test fit with your wrap. The age old question has always been “Where should the seam go?” Most drum companies do this: Toms; under a lug, kick; on the bottom where it can’t be seen, Snare; under the strainer to hide it. You will want no less than 1” of overlap for your seam. To make sure you line up your seam when gluing you’ll need to get your test fit wrapped around the drum as tight as possible, with your seam lined up in your designated area, and then transfer the center mark on your wrap to the edge of the shell. Also mark each end of your wrap where the overlap is on the shell.
To achieve maximum adhesion you’ll need to scuff/rough up the shell and the back side of the wrap. The best way to do this is to use 80 grit sand paper and sand the entire surface of the drum and the back of the wrap (don’t sand through your wrap). You’ll also need to peel back the protective plastic on the front of the wrap where your seam will be, measure your 1 inch seam and tape off the area you don’t want to scuff up or get glue on, and sand this down as well.
You can even lightly score the seam with a razor blade.
Lay your shell on a flat surface with your center mark facing you, then grab your wrap also with your center mark facing you, and ever so slightly scoot your wrap closer to the shell until you finally connect in the center, lining up the marks. This step is critical because once your wrap and shell touch, there is no going back.
Scoot your wrap across the table to line up the marks you made on the shell and the wrap.
Apply pressure from the center‐out, slowly wrapping the wrap around the shell. Make sure that you wrap the correct edge of your seam down first; you want to cover up the sanded part of the wrap with the clean part. Before you adhere the seam together, remove the piece of tape that masked the seam area or else you chance getting some tape stuck inside your seam! Now you need to apply some pressure all around the drum to get out any bubbles that might have formed! You can use a j‐roller going from the center‐out.
Also take special care at rolling the seam to make sure it is good and tight.
Sometimes when you apply a wrap you’ll end up spiraling the wrap which looks like this ... You can use scissors to cut this flush with the edge of the shell, or what I’ve found to be the best at trimming down the wrap is a tool made by Skil called the Auto Sharp Power Cutter.

Musicians Workshop
Musicians Workshop

Team building, training and workshops
Corporate entertainment, staff training, and team building workshops are increasingly seen as essential to the running of a successful company. For a relatively small outlay, you are rewarded with increased staff motivation, increased productivity and a happier workforce. We at Holiday Inn have 120 excellently equipped venues for corporate team building exercises, training workshops and corporate hospitality events across the UK.
Although staff often groan at team-building exercises, secretly they usually find them tremendous fun – especially if there's an element of surprise, and the chance to leave the office environment for a while. This is why it's a good idea to hold these events in a hotel like ours, rather than in-house. Outside their working environment, staff get the chance to shine in a way they never would at work.
How team building games can help your business
Many people book meeting rooms as a way to break the ice with new employees. Yet ice-breaking sessions can easily be turned into something more, and involve some form of entertainment. If your company is undergoing a period of change and improvement, team games are the perfect way to break the ice with new colleagues, break down barriers of communication, dissipate any frictions that may have been building and reveal hidden talents among staff.
While the theme of a workshop may seem to have little relevance to work, something as simple as a role play exercise, "human chess" game or paintball tournament will have people thrashing out problems as a team; thinking "outside the box" and taking leadership roles when normally they wouldn't. Workshops are a great way to develop customer relationship management (CRM) skills too.
Corporate entertainment – more than just the staff party
Corporate entertainment takes many different forms, from hiring actors for "Murder Mystery" weekends, to booking a professional band for the firm's annual dinner-and-dance, to arranging drumming workshops with professional musicians.
The term corporate hospitality was originally coined for events, often held in hotels, for sales people to forge new relationships or strengthen existing ones with customers. This has extended to staff incentives like the staff party; team building techniques such as drumming and drama workshops; training exercises and much more. A well-known face presenting an after-dinner speech, or handing out the "Employee of the Year" awards, are perfect examples of corporate entertainment.
Training workshops in our hotels
A hotel is the perfect venue for a staff training event, which today can cover many areas. It could be improving the customer relationship protocol; acquiring new knowledge; learning new techniques or developing better communication skills.
Although our hotels are equipped with Broadband and have full Wi-Fi coverage, when it comes to workshop sessions it can often be a good idea to resort to "old-fashioned" methods such as notebooks, flip-charts and whiteboards. This is especially true in corporate team building events, where you want as much staff interaction as possible.
Whatever your team-building, training or corporate hospitality event might be, we at Holiday Inn can provide everything you need. Many of our hotels can also arrange activities – anything from assault-course training to nightclub events. All you have to do is ask.

Senior Exhibition....what should I do?
Hey!
So I want to start thinking about my senior exhibition because I want to do something BIG and original. One person last year bought a cow for a village in Africa and I thought that was pretty amazing. I would love to do something like that, or pretty much anything great!
I’m open to anything.
I was even thinking about doing something with The Art of Elysium, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1997, encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. We provide artistic workshops in the following disciplines: acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing.
I don't go to a art school.
I go to a regular public Highschool
You've got a great start already. Why not try to organize a public play, in an open square or forum, where you (and any other seniors who you can get involved) teach the acting, art -for the sets, costumes, and play writing- and coordinate the free public radio spots for your charity. The audience is asked before the play starts, during the intermission, and when the play is over, for donations. There should be ushers to help people make their checks out properly.
The costumes, sets, even the play books could be auctioned off after the play. You could involve the local branch of your chosen charity in the event. They may have many ideas about how to conduct such an event. Getting volunteers from your class, and juniors, etc. will be a big help for your event. You might even involve your city in this event. If your city is small, you could appeal to other near-by communities. Make this an event to remember!
